Beautiful Vintage Engraved Peking Glass overlay with orange flowers and bamboo. It is in new condition. Bought it in 1950 in Hong Kong and still have it original box and labels.
It measures 10.5″high with base, the top of the vase is 2.5″ in diameter. Includes base.
Peking glass is an overlay carved glass which created by layering materials around the core, similar to cameo glass.
To create the overlay, a glass blower makes the shape, dips the shape into a basin of liquid glass several times. This process creates multiple layers of glass that are then hand carved away to produce a textured image.
Milky color is the base, then blue glass overlay on it to form a 3D image of the orange flowers and handcrafted in detail, beautiful collection piece for all the collectors.
